Longniddry Village
History
Longniddry is primarily a village for commuters, with good transport links by road and rail (Longniddry railway station is on the North Berwick Line) to Edinburgh, 12 miles to the West. Longniddry has a sandy beach beside the golf course. This stretch of local coastline is lined with dunes and known as Longniddry Bents.
In the last few years, in conjunction with local landowners, Longniddry Village has expanded with the building of many traditional houses with a mixture of modern country designs and period features. There are a variety of bungalows, terraces, semi-detached and detached homes, all uniquely designed.
Inspired by the best of East Lothian towns and villages, the houses include local traditional architecture alongside amenities such as village green, restored mill pond and wildflower meadow.
Capvond
Over the past number of years, Capvond have been fortunate and happy to be involved in the construction of some of the best and sustainable houses that are being built in Longniddry Village.
In conjunction with the two building contractors, Places for People and Crudens, we have manufactured all the traditional chimneys – of many various colours – to match the render of the houses. We have also supplied Capvond’s cast composite lightweight door and window surrounds which provides the houses with a unique, traditional look.
